Speaking of weddings – I have to have a little ‘rant’ – what is it with Bridezillas??? I know your wedding day is meant to be special, but!….. I had a call earlier today from a woman who wanted to order some address labels for her wedding - and just to remind you, we’re talking about a $13.00 purchase here. She said she wanted some ‘special’ labels and asked which kind I used. When I told her I used Avery matt sheeted labels she asked me to get some ‘special’ ones for her. At this point I attempted to tell her that the way I keep the prices down on the website is to only stock a limited variety of paper, card and label varieties, but no – she interrupted - she wanted me to get in the car and go out and find something especially for her. When I politely pointed out to her that it just wasn’t feasable for me to spend a minimum of an hour on a $13.00 order, she became incredibly rude and said “I thought that was what you did – thank you sooooo much for your assistance, I won’t waste any more of your time” and slammed the phone down in my ear. Nothing like being impolite when you’ve got a ‘blocked’ telephone number!
I think those of you who know me will know I always go the extra mile to keep my customers happy, however this woman really reminded me why I have very little to do with bridal products! So instead of doing what I would normally do and feeling worried about offending her, or brewing over the conversation and getting upset about it (hmmm – my meditation classes must be working), I’ve decided to just feel incredibly happy and lucky that she didn’t place an order with me and that I don’t have to deal with her. (And have this little rant to get it all off my chest of course!!)
I wonder if her soon-to-be hubby will love her (or love her not) when she starts acting like that once they’re married!
